Growing Through It

“Lord, grow me through this.” This is a prayer that has emerged from my heart at various times over the past few years. It is a prayer that is not the result of Covid 19 crisis, but it has certainly applied.

Sometimes I just want to GET through “it”: difficult situations, stressful events, and so on. But as Christians we have the ability, in Christ, to GROW through every difficulty.

“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Romans 5:3-5

I think nearly every one of us has been through a situation that is just too heavy to carry on our own. We can’t make sense of why the Lord has chosen this for us, we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, we can’t see the purpose yet, we retrace our steps to try and figure out where we messed up. I’ve been there a couple of times and sometimes the only prayer that brings relief is “Lord, please grow me through this.”

So here we are, in a world we would have never predicted 10 days ago. To be honest, I’m not worrying over the Corona Virus. We are taking all the precautions: self quarantine, hand sanitizer, lysol, the whole works. We are praying for an end to this virus, we are praying for all those who are sick with it. But I know the Lord will provide: for me, for my family, for Gracious May**, and for all who put their trust under the shadow of his wing. (heads up, we are still filling and shipping your orders as usual here at Gracious May HQ!)

“How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.” Psalm 36:7

I heard from someone older and wiser than the Lord used the battles “within” to prepare us for the battles “out there”. I believe it’s true (Luke 16:10). The way we deal with the fear and anxiety that threatens daily life will be the way we respond to the pandemics and crisis’s that are thrown at us by the world.

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much…” Luke 16:10

Sharing my Purposeful Wardrobe Journey seems more relevant today than it did when I began 5 weeks ago.  I think we are at a time where everyone is becoming more purposeful about day to day choices.  Some by force, and some because they know that life may look different once the dust settles.  It is important to seek the Lord for direction in every choice we make.

This blog is going to be my designated place of “quietness and confidence” in the social media realm. I plan to continue sharing about my Purposeful Wardrobe Journey, as well as share the ways the Lord answers my prayer for GROWTH during this season.

Will you leave me a comment? Let me know what the Lord used to help you GROW through difficult times, rather than just get through them.

Many thanks to you all!
