Welcome! My name is Grace and I am co-owner at GraciousMay.com! Gracious May is a carefully curated, Made in USA Marketplace featuring beautiful, American Made apparel for Women and Children! We desire to not only to sell our own Made in the USA products, but also to revive US Manufacturing on whole. Motivating individuals across the United States towards their own startups, and giving them a platform at our new MARKET section are two ways we are moving towards this goal. “With God, nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37). This Word is the reason for Gracious May’s 10th Anniversary celebration, and the fuel for our incredible enthusiasm for the future! Please read on for our full Brand Bio!

At Gracious May we are Celebrating 10 years as a Made in USA Clothing Brand!

10 years ago Gracious May was started as just a small, basement operation. What we sold back in 2008 was pretty much limited to infant shoes and headbands. As time went on our selection grew! It was a really natural process that came as a result of Customer demand. Our customers wanted bigger sizes, so we added toddler and children’s shoes to the Gracious May lineup; they wanted a dress to match their shoes, so we added coordinating apparel; moms wanted shoes to match their little girls, so we developed a line of ladies shoes. The growth of the Gracious May Marketplace has been so organic, a true result of customer demand! One thing has not changed, however, and that is the fact that all of our products are MADE IN USA. Gracious May is now a full line of apparel and accessories for mother and child!

Why has Gracious May remained a Made in USA Clothing Brand?

To be honest, for us, Made in USA was born out of necessity. It was initially just my team and I working to create the products that we sold at graciousmay.com. We made our products in our basement workshop here in the USA. As sales climbed and our manufacturing team grew, Made in USA became a commitment. We saw, firsthand, the positive impact it made on the individuals who create the products we sell at GraciousMay.com. A single mom we worked with to create our products came to Gracious May headquarters and said: “Thank you. I am so grateful for this work…” It was a simple expression in terms of words, but it meant so much. By working on the Gracious May manufacturing team she was able to stay close to her children and earn the income she needed to support her family. This gratitude has been echoed by several ladies and gentlemen like her. These are the men and women who create the products we sell at the Gracious May Marketplace. It took us 5 years to establish solid manufacturing team here in the United States. It’s not an easy route, and there are still daily challenges to work through. But do you know what is irreplaceable? The look of satisfaction on the faces of our team members when they see the customer loving a product they have assembled.

Why are Gracious May’s USA Made Products worth your investment?

We all want to make a difference for good, right? Every decision we make has a ripple affect. When we spend our money on clothes and shoes, we have the opportunity to make a difference with our dollars. When you buy an ethically produced, American (USA) Made product your money goes back into the cities and states that that those products were made in. What’s more, is that most Made in USA Clothing brands are often so transparent about their manufacturing process. They want to invite you into the process. There is, simply, a connection.

I was at a conference for small business owners 2 years ago. One of the women from the audience gave a really interesting example of how fast-fashion has permeated the modern mindset. Her grandma lived in the 20’s and 30’s. She was not a rich woman, but when she spent money on a new outfit she would spend what would be the equivalent to $500 in today’s money. Why? Because she was investing in quality that would last for years. It was a garment that was built to last beyond a trend. She made an investment in QUALITY. This wasn’t an unusual thing; two generations ago this mindset was the way of life.

Our MARKET section is our way of giving exposure to Companies who have committed to Manufacturing excellent products in the United States! Why do US Companies take their manufacturing overseas?

We cannot answer this question on behalf of any brand. The truth of the matter is, however, that in some foreign countries worker are paid in one day what a US worker makes in an hour. Outsourcing allows companies to make more products, more styles, more inventory at a much lower cost. I say all this to illustrate the reality that being a Made in USA clothing brand allows Gracious May the opportunity to stay close to manufacturing. It gives us the ability keep in close touch with the people who make our products.

We have GROWN our selection so much in the last 10 years! Way back in 2009 when Gracious May was established as an officially registered brand, our selection was pretty well limited to infant booties. Now, in 2019, our marketplace features Made in USA shoes for women and children, Clothing (dresses, skirts, tops), Hats, Headbands, Diaper Bags, Blankets, Bibs, Handbags, and more! As we have outlined above, our goal is to continue growing our selection of Made in USA wearables for mother and child.
