Daily grace… networking that exalts the Word.

I’ve felt increasingly uncomfortable with mainstream social media channels.

Alarming updates to privacy policies.

Blatant censorship.

Harmful content.

All of this has had me praying over whether or not to continue to promote Gracious May in these places.

I have had the ability to reach tens of thousands with God’s Word and I have forged some true relationships.  For these I praise the Lord, and I will continue to be a light on whatever platform I can.

But I have a desire to invest the larger portion of my time in building a network that honors Christ.

So I am “throwing out the fleece”, as they say. I’ve prayed and now I’d like to see if there are 100 individuals interested in joining this email network.

This is not a boycott, but rather a way to say: “YES! I want to invest in a different way.”

Lordwilling, if I can reach my goal of 100, I will be sharing about our products at Gracious May, other brands and individuals, and encouragement from the Word of God… by the grace of God.

It will be simple. Just an email, a Word of encouragement, and maybe a photo or two.

Will you join me?

-Grace

VIDEO: Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from Gracious May! We would like to hop on here and thank all of the wonderful customers and supporters who have supported us, not only in 2019, but also in the last 10 years we’ve been in business. We are so excited for 2020 but we cannot proceed without just pausing and giving the Lord thanks. We are thankful to Him for sustaining us, and for the the reality that no matter what; whether it’s a new day, a new moment, or a new year, He remains the same. He will never leave us nor forsake us. The year is new but the Lord is the same. He has never left us and he never will. He has plans for us which He will bring to pass, and we can rest in this. These are all promises for those who know Christ. If you don’t, you can turn to Him in faith this very moment and be born again.

Love, Gracious May

Tissue Flower Bouquet Tutorial

It’s the time of year that everyone is looking for Teacher Gift Inspiration! Teacher’s themselves are saying that the best gifts they have received are heartfelt ones: a handmade card with a genuine note of thanks. With the end of the year hurry to find the perfect Teacher Gift I was inspired to share this Tissue Flower Bouquet Tutorial with you! This Paper Flower Bouquet is so easy that Little Hands can help!!!

This Paper Bouquet is one I made for my Mom’s Mother’s Day Tablescape last weekend. I pulled in a few little helpers and had the Bouquet finished in a couple of hours! The options are endless when it comes to the occasions you could gift this bouquet on: Mother’s Day, Sister Gift, Thank you Gift, Baby Shower Gift, bridal shower centerpiece, baby shower center piece, or even a gift for the Elderly! These paper flowers stay vibrant and LOVELY with no watering!

Supplies you need:

  • Hot Glue Gun.
  • Hot Glue Sticks.
  • Tissue Paper in the color of your choice for the flowers.
  • Green Tissue for the leaves.
  • Green Pipe Cleaners for the stems (you can also use wooden kabob skewers like I did here, just do not let children assist you with the stem-assembly if you choose this sharp option).
  • Vase.
  • OPTIONAL: Paint and Paint Brush if you want to paint texture on the tissue petals.

Step 1: Cut Circles

Decide how many flowers you want in your Bouquet (there are about 20 in the bouquet photographed). Cut 6 circles for each flower. The circles should be around 3″ in diameter. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT CIRCLES. A 7 year old cut nearly all the circles for this bouquet and there were some lumpy cuts! Don’t sweat it at all, just make sure your Littles get involved – they’ll love it!!

Step 2: Decorate Petals

This Step is optional, but makes room for Little Helpers with artistic flair!

Decorate the petals if you wish! If you have super-colorful tissue, this is an optional step.

Step 3: Assemble

Pump a large glob (excellent grammar, right!?!) of hot glue right in the center of your first circle. Now fold your second circle in quarters and place it on the glue. Repeat for the remaining 4 circles, layering them so that the finished product is this fluffy carnation-style flower.

Step 4: Attach to Stems

Super simple, pump a mini-glob of hot glue on the back side of your new flower and attach the end of a pipe cleaner.

Step 5: Add the Leaves

Using my green tissue paper, I cut two leaves and criss-crossed them. I poked the stems through the center and threaded the leaves up close to the flower. You only need to add leaves to maybe one out of every 4 flowers you decide to make. Greenery is a preference thing, so go with what looks good to you.

Step 6: Voila! Arrange your finished product in the vase!

I wanted a filler element to simulate the water and sort of hold the flowers in place. One of my Little Helpers ran to her room and brought me a bag full of blue pony beads! This is again optional, but a nice finishing touch and weights the vase so it’s not so top heavy. Another TIP is to make a few flowers without stems and glue them here and there to add dimension to your arrangement.

And that’s that! I’m pretty tempted to never buy a fresh arrangement again! Hope you love this Gracious May Tissue Flower Bouquet Tutorial! Leave me a comment below and tell me what you think!

We have been working night and day on some new plans for Gracious May, but today afforded time for a deep breath and an extra long coffee break.  I am so grateful that the Lord supplies times of rest.  I’m learning to be willing to take them, remembering He is the Builder.  Love, Gracious May
